What’s was New this Year?
Building on the success of the Youth Arts Festival last year, we took the whole thing to a new level – we introduced a really exciting new addition to the festival. We are opened the Bandstand Stage on Saturday for the first time to establish a Youth Stage.
This provided a platform for young people to perform in front of a much larger audience.
We worked closely with Wellsway School, St Brendans, BIMM and Access Creative colleges to select the best students to perform. It was a real highlight of the festival so hope you didn’t miss it.
However, it’s not just about those who performed. This year, we also welcomed 30+ young people from the local schools and colleges to work with us for the weekend. They shadowed the stage managers, the sound engineers, the event management team, and the photographers – experiencing the event from
behind the scenes.
We were delighted that Bristol University teamed up with Broadlands School to bring a new experience to the Wellbeing Village where you could learn about their world leading public health research.
