Meet the team

Stage Manager - Steve Mercy

I was born in West Bromwich in the Black Country, West Midlands. Birthplace of Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy) and bands such as Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest, Slade and, only a a few miles from where Black Sabbath formed.
Music has always a huge part of my life. Aside from playing in multiple bands, I was a founder of the Mind, Body and Spirit festival as well as organising many charity concerts/festivals for Teenage Cancer Trust, Brockswood Animal Sanctuary, Help Haiti, The Sophie Lancaster Foundation and many others.

Moving to Keynsham in 2013 to work in the Aerospace industry, I very quickly became involved with the Keynsham Music Festival. Be it performing as a solo artist, with local band The Ship Mates and, more recently my current band Typan to assisting many times as stage manager of the acoustic stage at Grounded. In addition to this, I have on several occasions been a member of Keynsham Light Opera Group and was a creator, writer and director of their 2017 production 'George's Diner'.
I am very proud to have now been invited to be stage manager of The Crystal Clear Top Stage at this year's festival and also to become one of the directors. Being involved in a more professional capacity is very dear to my heart and I very much look forward to being a part of the KMF team and assisting in it's future growth and continued success.
Aside from being a Quality Engineer for a local aerospace company, I am still very much a recording artist. You can usually find me performing locally as a solo artist or bassist in both Typan & Cauda Pavonis or performing further afield in The Eden House and The Faces Of Sarah. Moments aside from that are reserved for one of our beautiful local driving ranges. I very much look forward to our future adventures together at Keynsham Music Festival.
